    General Information

Key Benefits of CD-R Duplication with Dove:

    • Smaller, more affordable quantities

    • Very Fast Turnaround, even with full color printing

    • Graphic design & typesetting included at no charge

"CD-R duplication" means that your material is recorded onto recordable CD's, much like how blank audio cassettes can be recorded. At Dove we use the latest, fully robotic duplication equipment to ensure high quality and high capacity. To you, this means you get your disks fast and you get them right. The technology in CD-R duplication lets us cost-effectively offer you small quantities (usually under 1000 copies) without having to leverage in the startup cost of pressed-CD duplication. With our digital color printing you can even get great looking fully packaged product without ordering thousands. We offer complete packages in as low as 100 CD quantities.

CD-R duplication opens the door to CD's for many projects that don't justify the cost or quantity of pressed-CD duplication. Some of the uses our clients have had for this service include: Distribution of product photos and company logos, distribution of beta development multimedia and other software, smaller quantities of music CD for demos/radio play/resale, etc...

The most common problems and how to prevent them

The most common problems in the replication of material on CD-R originate with the preparation of the master tape/disc.

    For DAT (audio) masters:

    • DAT tapes must include a complete and accurate log sheet with in and out times for all tracks.
    • A few seconds of black between each track produces the best copies. Songs that run together on tape will be separated by an audio "gap" on disk.
    • Program ID's must occur before the beginning of the audio. Most DAT decks do not auto-number accurately! They wait for the music to start then insert an ID a fraction of a second later. On tape this is not a problem, but on a disk it means the very first part of your song is now on the end of the previous track.
    • If we have to manually index or re-index your DAT tape there will be an extra charge.

    For CD-R (audio/data) masters:

    • CD-Rs must be written in disk-at-once mode! Session-at-once, track-at-once or packet-at-once disks may not be usable.
    • If we have to correct your master disk there will be an extra charge.
